Two pictures in one day? Its a record for Twi!!!!
This picture was a massive learning experience. I think I tried about ten different new ways of shading, adding highlights, inking, etc. I'm really quite pleased with the overall look, though at some points I had my doubts ^_^;; It sorta was looking as if I was trying to smash two styles together, but then it all seemed to mesh at the very end.... The pose actually wasn't too hard for me for some reason. It only took about two sketches for me to be satisfied.... I wish I could say the same about my purely animal or purely human drawings XD For some reason anthros I always find easier. Weird....
As for the water, the basic concept is to create some sort of texture, then run a chrome filter over it. This isn't the tutorial I learned by, but its basically the same concept: [link] Then you just experiment with color, types of layers, sizes, transparency, stretch/skewing it, etc.
